DILG ASSISTS IN THE FORMULATION OF TAGUDIN’S ELA

Director Federico Bitonio of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Ilocos Sur and Ms. Fema Manabeng, MLGOO of Tagudin, facilitated the formulation of the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) of the Municipality of Tagudin – the Roadmap of the administration’s programs, projects and activities.
The aforementioned ELA was conducted at the Hotel Supreme, Baguio City on August 12-13, 2016 and participated in by the officials, chiefs of offices and representatives from the academe. As a result of the collaborative effort, critical thinking, exchange of ideas and opinions with the guidance and assistance of the DILG, the following battle cry, vision, mission and core values were unanimously approved, to wit:
Agpiarkam Siglat mo, Agkaykaysa kam Panagrang-ay mo TAGUDIN!
NesTown of Prosperity

To be shepherds in enhancing the quality of lives.

LGU’S KEY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES ATTEND RETREAT

Mayor Jun together with Vice Mayor Tovera, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Chiefs of Offices and the employees attended a 2-day retreat recollection at the ICM House of Prayer, Baguio City on August 10-11, 2016.
Said retreat was conducted to establish a more cordial and harmonious working relationship among the leaders of the LGU which would eventually lead to a more responsive and quality provision of services to the people.
Sr. Perla together with Sr. Emma, Sr. Lulu, Sr. Josie and Sr. Connie altogether made the retreat for the LGU such a meaningful and worth contemplating for.
TAMEA General Assembly

to discuss various issues, updates and concerns of the association. Afterwhich, being the Chairman of the Election Committee, spearheaded the election of Officers for the 2016-2019 with the following new sets of officers:

MNC Spearheads 2016 Nutrition Month Celebration
22 July 2016. Nutrition Month is a campaign held every month of July to create greater knowledge among Filipinos on the importance of nutrition. Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines mandates the National Nutrition Council (NNC) to lead and coordinate the nationwide campaign. Now on its 42nd year, NNC comes up with a theme to call the nation's attention and action: "FIRST 1000 DAYS NI BABY PAHALAGAHAN PARA SA MALUSOG NA KINABUKASAN." It focuses on the first 1000 days of life from conception until the second birthday of the child and highlights as the "golden window of opportunity" for interventions that aim to achieve maximum potential of the child's growth and development.
This 2016, the LGU through the Municipal Nutrition Council, conceptualized the opening of the First 1000 Days Booths to celebrate this year's Nutrition Month celebration. There were 3 booths: First, PRE-NATAL BOOTH which caters to all pregnant women. Each of them signed a pledge of commitment in support to the First 1000 days of life and be advocates of breastfeeding. They were also given buntis emergency kits. Second, INFANT (UNDER 1 YEAR OLD) BOOTH. All lactating mothers of 0-6 months old were given Nutrition Assessment & Counseling and Infant kits. Third booth is the TODDLER (1-2 yEARS OLD) BOOTH. Free medical checkup was given to the identified affected/at-risk toddlers based on the latest OPT result. Nutrition assessment and counseling were also given to the parents of these identified childred. After which, they were given oral hygienic kits and good commodities. In addition, the Municipal Agriculture Office distributed vegetable seeds for the families of the affected/at-risk pre-schoolers. IEC materials on Health and Nutrition were likewise distributed. An On-the-spot photo contest was also conducted where the winners received PhP 1,000.00 cash plus there winning photo.
