Barangay Libtong, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur

Ten (10)-unit Artificial Reefs were donated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Office I which were dropped-off officially at the sea of Brgy. Libtong on April 21 to 23, 2010. The counterpart of the Local Government Unit of Tagudin was twenty (20) units which were dropped-off on December 2010 and February 2011, consecutively. Additional ten (10) units were bestowed by BFAR on April 2011.

The purpose of this program is to create a community of marine life within the jurisdiction of the town to primarily increase the food supply within the municipality. Soon, when these artificial reefs house variety of fishes and other marine species, this may also a potential tourist destination for SCUBA diving.
