SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS/BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE BARANGAY
Barangay Magsaysay is located north of Amburayan River and west north of the Municipal Hall which was situated at Rizal District, tagudin, Ilocos Sur. It is one of the four Districts of Poblacion, tagudin, Ilocos Sur.
Our Barangay was named in honor of the late President Ramon Magsaysay. It has a total lanf area of 15.0909 hectares and a population of 862 and a year Estimated income of Php 1,200,002.00. Most of the residents engage in business and some are employees of private and government sector. It is a great pride that majority of the youth populace finished a degree in college.
The barangay council conduct a monthly session every 1st Friday and 3rd Friday of the month, wherein every focal person exchange ideas and opinions for the benefit of the barangay constituents in the implementation of programs facilities. A general assembly meeting among the residents were also gathered every month for information dessimination purposes:

During the reign of President Ferdinand Marcos, empowerment of the grassroots was one of his objectives, thus, the creative of the Barangay. History tells us that the Municipality of Tagudin was absolutely a Poblacion. Further developments was undertaken, one of which was division of the Poblacion into four (4) Districts namely Del Pilar, Rizal District, Magsaysay District and Quirino District was later transformed into Barangays.
Barangay Magsaysay was named after the late President Ramon Magsaysay who was the third President of the Republic. He was born in Iba, Zambales on August 31, 1907. He was a elected President of the Philippines in 1953 and saved (4) years in office. He was a strong opponent of the Communist-led Huk Guerillas and he recognized and strengthened the armed forces in a campaign to crush them. He was killed in a plane – March 17, 1957.
