About 3.0 kilometers east of the Poblacion of Tagudin lies Barangay Gabur. It bounded on the north of Barangay Cabugbugan, on east by Barangay Cabulanglangan, on the south by Barangay Lacong, and on the west by the rice plain of this municipality. The people of this barangay is a conglomeration of the different people coming from different places. Formerly, the place was barren, so that during the early days, nobody was residing in this place. But as time went on, the creek that runs through the middle of Barangay overflows its banks and the nearly lands were filled up with mud that come from the mountain until the place was so inviting for migration. People from the surrounding barangays began to flock and temporarily resided in this places, a place which was filled up with mud called GABUR. Every time someone asked where they came those residing temporarily always say gabur. There was a time that a missionary priest went around and happened to came to this place, he asked the name of the place and they answered GABUR. Then a royal decree was promulgated from Spain requiring the registration of all barangay and the “PANGPANGULO” or heads came to an agreement to register the place GABUR which up to the present carries its name.
